Ever since the pandemic flipped the world of work on its head, workers are taking center stage. 🙃 All of a sudden, we realized we're worth way more than we thought! 🌟 And no, we won't settle for pizza parties instead of promotions. 😤🍕
A new poll of 1,148 workers between ages 18 and 64 pulled back the curtain on how workers really feel about their jobs and the future. We've highlighted some of the juiciest results here! 🍉
Here’s Five Fast Facts on the survey's findings:
- 🙏 Too Blessed to be Stressed - Roughly eight in every 10 workers say they're satisfied with their jobs or feel they're enjoyable. However, six in 10 workers (or 62%) say their jobs are stressful. Despite all the whiny brat jokes, Gen Z workers were the least likely to report a job as stressful. We'll give it time.
- 💻 Power Points & PJs - For workers who can do their jobs remotely, seven out of 10 say they prefer to work from home either all or most of the time. Only six percent say they'd rather be in the office full time.
- 🤑 Show Me the Money - Forget ping pong tables in the break room! When asked to rank the most important factors in a job, 45% put pay at the top of the list. Around 14% say having a good boss was the most important. Other factors listed include health and retirement benefits, vacation time, relationships with co-workers, and opportunities for advancement.
- 🔄 The Ol' Switcheroo - Since the pandemic started, one out of three workers say they've switched jobs. Almost half (44%) said they made the move for a bigger paycheck.
- 💼 Eight and Skate - About 61% of respondents say they work "enough to excel at their jobs and advance” in their careers. A third of the workers surveyed say they do what they need to, but don't go above and beyond. Only four percent say they're doing just enough to get by. We bet they sit next to the quiet quitter crew.
🔥Bottom line: It seems as though today's workers value flexibility, a solid paycheck, and a stress-free working environment the most. Doesn't seem like too much to ask, right?
