To Stay Or Not To Stay: Is Job Hopping Worth It?

Hop to it, job seekers! 🐸 Recent studies show that hopping from one job to another can skyrocket your salary. It's also a way to get sweet revenge on that MonsterBoss™ of yours.👹

However, some employers are catching on to the trend. Companies across the country are upping wages to prevent their worker frogs from leaving the lillypad

Here’s Five Fast Facts on job hopping:

  1. 🐇To Hop...- A new report showed that people who switched jobs between July 2021 and July 2022 earned almost 7% MORE in wages.
  2. 🤔...Or Not To Hop - Compare that to the people who stayed in their current job during the same timeframe, who received raises of just under 5%.
  3. ✌🏽 Peace Out - Job openings recently fell to 10.7 million, which is the lowest they've been since September 2021. Meanwhile, quit rates are around 4.2 million per month.
  4. 👨🏻‍💻Out of the Office - The pandemic gave lots of people the ability to work remotely for the first time. Many people fell in love with work-from-home life, which was no bueno when the boss started calling everyone back to the office.
  5. 🛶Staying Afloat - As people work to stay above inflation, leaving a job for higher pay seems like the best choice. However, if wages keep increasing, experts are worried that this might make lowering inflation more challenging.

🔥Bottom line: Companies all over the country have been forking over hefty raises and unexpected bonuses to keep people in their cubicles. But is it enough? Employers are going to have to think outside the conference room on this one. Remote work seems to be the biggest perk around and more job seekers are putting it at the top of their lists.

Have you hopped from one job to another recently? Was it worth it?
