Burnout sure is a buzzword of our generation! Everyone we know is either fighting it off or putting out flames. 🔥 In fact, new research shows some jobs are more prone to the burn than others.
Here’s Five Fast Facts on jobs with the highest rates of burnout:
- 🌡️ Hot In Here - Feeling the burn? According to research from LinkedIn, these five job types have the biggest burnout rates: program and project management, healthcare services, community and social services, quality assurance, and education.
- ♨️ Nice and Crispy - LinkedIn also found that four out of ten U.S. workers say they feel stuck and burned out in their jobs. If you’re a project manager, you might be feeling it even more. A reported 50% of project management professionals say they’re burning up.
- 🤯 Burn Level: Max - So why are project managers so stressed? Well for one, they’re responsible for making sure things get done on time (no pressure). They also have to multitask and act as a middle man between employees and clients. LinkedIn researchers say people who work in healthcare, education, and social services tend to get stressed over having limited control over the results of their work.
- 🙏 Too Blessed for Stress - Which jobs have the least amount of burnout? LinkedIn says consulting, real estate, and business development jobs. Only a third of workers in these categories reported burnout.
- 🧯 Fanning the Flames - You can’t always prevent burnout, but you can try to sniff it out before you sign that offer letter. Ask about what kind of support staff gets during your interview and what resources are available to employees. Find out if burnout-preventing benefits like mental healthcare and flexible scheduling are available.
