You can’t escape Taylor Swift. She’s here, and she’s not going anywhere. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing, because Tay-Tay is having a hugely positive impact on our economy and it's causing experts to be completely baffled.
Here’s Five Fast Facts on the Taylor Swift Effect:
- 🌎 Global - Swift's current “Eras” tour is now the most successful concert tour in history, netting $939M in tickets. It’s projected to hit $1B next year.
- 🎤 National - The tour is expected to lead to more than $5B in consumer spending. The opening night of her tour in Glendale Arizona brought in more revenue than the Super Bowl held in that same stadium. In fact, she has been bringing in as much money as two or three Super Bowls every weekend.
- 🎸 Local - There’s also a local impact. Fans are dropping anywhere from $1,300-$1,500 in related local spending for hotels, food, and transportation. This boosts local economies by hundreds of millions of dollars in one weekend.
- 🎥 Movies - Her tour movie opens Friday and it’s already made money. AMC saw advance first-day ticket sales bring in a record-setting $26M in 24 hours. It caused an 11.5% jump in their stock prices, too.
- 🏈 Football - The NFL isn’t immune, either. Her rumored (RUMORED!) relationship with Kansas City Chiefs’ Tight End Travis Kelce has led to a 400% increase in sales for his jersey. Demand for Chiefs tickets has skyrocketed, with the team selling more tickets in a single season. It’s gonna suck when they break up… but the team will probably still be pretty good. 😉
🔥Bottom line: No matter if you love her, hate her, or are indifferent about her, Taylor Swift isn’t going anywhere and if her tour stops in your town, she’s helping the local economy in a big way.
Have you seen The Eras Tour? Or are you just going to offer your opinion of her in the comments?😜
