Here’s Five Fast Facts on PA’s new Main Street Matters Program:

  1. 🏘️ Money On Main - At the beginning of the month, PA officials announced the launch of the $20 million Main Street Matters program. The program provides funding to downtown business districts, small businesses, and local communities across the Keystone State.
  1. 🚀 New Boost on the Block - The goal of the program is to invest in rebuilding PA’s commercial business districts and revitalizing local communities. Funding will go towards projects focused on planning, business support, aesthetic improvements, and safety and security.
  2. 📝 Sign Me Up - Anyone who wants in on Main Street Matters program funds can apply through November 15. Municipalities like counties, cities, and townships can apply, as well as non-profit organizations, neighborhood improvement groups, and community development organizations.
  1. 📊 Facts & Figures - Funding through Main Street Matters Funding is part of the 2024-25 bipartisan plan to make PA more competitive economically. On top of this program, the state’s budget includes $500 million for site development, including $400 million for the PA SITES program that helps businesses relocate or expand within the Commonwealth.
  1. 💰 Cha-Ching - But wait, there’s more! Small minority-owned businesses will get $20 million in state funding. Another $15 million will go towards tourism marketing to boost PA’s economy, attract more visitors, and support family-sustaining jobs.
