Here’s five great in-demand summer jobs:
- 📋 Keep It Together - Summer is *the* season for weddings, parties, and outdoor celebrations. Venues and restaurants depend on seasonal event managers to help herd all the cats when they're booked solid. You'll be the point person to make sure events run smoothly (average pay: $30 an hour).
- 🐛 You're Bugging Me - Hot weather brings all the bugs to the yard, but they're usually unwanted guests. Seasonal pest control technicians work during the warmer months when demand for exterminators is at its peak (average pay: $21 an hour).
- 🏞️ Parks & Rec - School's out and everyone's hitting up the nation's parks and recreational areas. Parks maintenance workers keep the place in good working order. You'll likely spend the day handling inspections and playing fix-it throughout the property (average pay: $31 an hour).
- ⚾ Play Ball! - Kids and adults alike get their game on throughout the summer. Pick up a seasonal sports coordinator gig and help teams and athletic leagues stay organized. Duties may include choosing places to play, booking travel, and maintaining equipment (average pay: $26 an hour).
- 🍎 It's Tutor Time - Are you good with kids? Do you have a teaching background or are you just a really smart cookie? Tutors are in high demand as parents look to keep kids sharp in between school years (average pay: $24 an hour).
