All dad jokes aside, business is booming in the Buckeye State. 🏭 According to CNBC’s latest ranking of America’s Top States for Business, Ohio improved significantly from last year and made the top ten! 🙌

 

Here’s Five Fast Facts on Ohio’s top state status:

  1. 📋 Rank and File - To come up with their 2024 rankings, CNBC scored all 50 states on 128 different metrics. They focused on ten specific categories and each state had the potential to earn a max of 2,500 points. Categories included things like cost of doing business, access to capital, cost of living, and quality of life.
  1. ⏫ Movin’ On Up - In last year’s ranking, the Buckeye State landed a spot in 12th place. This year, Ohio jumped up into the top ten, settling in at 7th on the list. They also earned a score of 1,464.
  1. 💰 Bang for Your Buck(eye) - What’s so great about Ohio? The cost of doing business in the state was a major factor. In that category, Ohio is second-best in the nation. They’re also fourth in the nation in terms of cost of living. The state also got a lift in the education and business friendliness categories.
  1. 🙀 Use the Force - While we celebrate Ohio’s top ten status, they’re far from perfect. Even though the state ranked high in many areas, they pooped the bed in the workforce category. Ohio got an F with a score of 38.
  1. 🌟 Shining Stars - Who’s better at business than Ohio? Here’s the breakdown: 1. Virginia, 2. North Carolina, 3. Texas, 4. Georgia, 5. Florida, 6. Minnesota.
