PA Gas Taxes Decrease (A Little Bit)

Pennsylvania drivers, start your engines! Are you ready to save a few pennies on gas taxes this year? ⛽ We're sure the answer to that question is yes.

Although it seems like there's more change left in your couch, the decrease of a few pennies per gallon could add up to some big savings…especially if you're a road warrior! 😎🚘

Here’s Five Fast Facts on PA's decreased gas tax:

  1. 📉 Drop It Like It's Hot - According to the PA Department of Revenue, the state gas tax is dropping from about 61 cents per gallon to 57 cents a gallon.
  1. 🔥 Too Fast, Too Furious - Diesel will also drop roughly four cents per gallon. Vin Diesel will also drop about 60 pounds to play a serious role in a legitimate movie. And no, that's not a real fact at all.
  1. 💸 Fuel for Funding - What are gas taxes used for? In the Keystone State, they go towards highway and bridge construction and road maintenance and safety. It also funds the PA State Police department.
  1. 🚗 Hit the Gas - How much gas do Pennsylvanians guzzle? A recent study showed the state consumed about 4.5 billion gallons in 2021. That's around 495 gallons per each of PA's 9 million registered drivers.
  1. 🪙 Penny Party - How much the tax cut will save you depends on how much you drive. If you only get in the car to take the kids to school and hit the grocery store, it probably won't matter too much. However, if you're a commuter queen who drives 10,000 miles a year, you could potentially save a cool $400.

🔥Bottom line: Would we love to see the gas tax come down even more? You bet. Would we love to see all taxes disappear forever? Absolutely. Would we love to see another Fast and Furious movie? Hell yeah, brother. Feeling like there's a little less TP on your rolls these days? This article shows you where Americans are getting less bang for their buck.

Will the decreased gas tax have an impact on your budget?
