October Happenings in PA

Pennsylvania Octobers just hit different. 🍂 Between the gorgeous fall scenery at our national parks and a whole laundry list of haunted attractions, why go anywhere else? 🤷 Pay no attention to anything going on in New Jersey.

Here’s Five Fast Facts on PA’s October events:

  1. 🧌 Creepy Cave - Whether you’re in the mood for a fright or you just want to have some fall family fun, Huntingdon's Ghosts and Goblins at Lincoln Caverns has you covered. Get your spooky on during a scary tour at night or bring the family to a tamer haunted cave during the day! There’s also a haunted forest and haunted hayride. Check it out October 11-12, 18-19, and 25-26. 
  1. 🍁 Leaf Me Alone - If you love soaking up all the fall scenery, head to one of the Fall Foliage Weekends in Jim Thorpe (October 12 and 13, or 19 and 20). Browse fall food and crafts from tons of vendors, wander around the town shops, and catch some love music. You can also tour the town’s old jail! 
  1. 🚣 I’m On a Boat - Pack up the fam and head to Philly on October 26th and 27th to catch the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta. This fun event features a variety of rowing teams from across the country and around the world competing on a difficult 2.5-mile course that ends at Boathouse Row, near the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Don’t forget to high-five the Rocky statue!
  1. ⛓️ Straight to Jail - Up the street from Philly’s Boathouse Row, you’ll find the Eastern State Penitentiary. Take a spooky daytime tour to take in the prison’s rich history (even see Al Capone’s cell). If you’re in the mood for a more haunted vibe, hit up the haunted tours at night. Tours run all October long!
  2. 😱 Fright Filled Field - Did you know PA is home to the number one haunted attraction in the nation!? Field of Screams in Lancaster County is back for its 31st year of top-notch fear. Featuring a haunted hayride, two haunted mansions, and a haunted field, you’ll definitely get your fill of frights. Bonus: attractions are open in November!
