According to a recent survey by The Scare Factor, Ohio's number one in the country for Halloween attractions! 🥇 Based in Indiana, The Scare Factor travels the nation to find and rate the best haunts. Now, that sounds like a pretty fun job.
Here’s Five Fast Facts about Ohio's Halloween scene:
- 🎃 We're Number One - With 130 haunted destinations, Ohio ranks number one when it comes to the most places in one state. California came in at number two with 123 destinations and next door neighbor Pennsylvania came in third with 102.
- 👻 The Scariest of Them All - The Scare Factor ranked Springfield's Face Your Fears Hotel of Terror the number one haunt in Ohio. It's a real haunted house that's been abandoned since the 1940's.
- 🏚️ Late for Class - The Akron Haunted Schoolhouse is one of the longest running haunts in the U.S. This year, it's celebrating its 50th anniversary.
- 💰 Haunting for a Cause - The Hudson Haunted House is another long standing haunted attraction with 53 seasons under its belt. Fun fact: the Hudson Haunted House is a 100% non-profit organization. Proceeds from the haunted house go to both local and national charitable organizations.
- 💸 Spooky Savings Tip - If you're planning to hit up one of these spooky spots, grab your tickets early. Many haunts increase their prices as it gets closer to Halloween. Some require advanced reservations, so check the attraction's website.
