Need Help with Your Job Search? AI to the Rescue!

Sick of churning out cover letters for all those job applications? Why not have a robot do it? 🤖💼  While AI can't handle everything for you, leaning on it for some job search tasks could save you a ton of time! 🥳

Instead of sitting at the computer with writer's block, use ChatGPT to draft cover letters, cook up resumes, and handle any extra application materials in a snap. Here's how! 👇

Here’s Five Fast Facts on how to use ChatGPT with your job search:

  1. 💡 The Ideas Factory - Don't know how to start a cover letter? ChatGPT is great for generating ideas and phrases. Enter in specific details from the job description, along with your own unique qualifications and experiences to add a personal touch.
  1. 🤓 Mind Your Ps and Qs - Not a member of the grammar police? No problem. ChatGPT will check for errors. Make sure to do one last proofread before adding any AI-generated text to your job application, just to be safe.
  1. ⌨️ Customize It - If you're a template guy or gal, use ChatGPT to combine your templated text with customized language from the job description. It'll make your generic jargon look much more tailored to specific applications.
  2. 🧑‍🍳 A Dash of Human - When you're using ChatGPT for your job search, make sure whatever you decide to submit has a human touch. Don't just copy and paste the text verbatim, especially when it comes to cover letters. Add a little bit of personality to make sure it sounds like a real person.
  1. 🚀 I'm a Rocket Scientist - While AI can certainly help you polish up your application materials, don't use it to exaggerate who you really are. Of course you want to look like the best person for a role, but don't have ChatGPT pepper in bogus qualifications. A big no-no.

🔥Bottom line: We love to throw shade on robots, but training them to work for us is something we can get behind. If AI can knock a couple hours off the job search grind, we'll take it! While you're trolling Indeed.com, make sure you steer clear of ghost jobs. Not sure what we're talking about? You're in luck - we have an article for that
