Money And Jobs In WA’s Great Outdoors

Ah, the great outdoors! There’s a lot happening out there no matter where you are, but in Washington state it’s especially excellent. We have just about everything, from mountains to water to forest, and everything in between. And what’s even better is that things are looking up for all of it!

Here are Five Fast Facts about money and jobs in Washington’s great outdoors:

  1. 💲 Fed Money - The feds have allocated almost $75 million to the state for various outdoorsy things. It comes in the form of 14 projects intended to create jobs while preserving the environment of coastal communities. The full list of projects is here, if you’re curious. It’s like Christmas for tree huggers! 🎄😁
  1. 🧹 Clean It Up - A big part of the fed money will go to clean up marine debris from protected waters. I think that’s about as universally appreciated as anything you can find nowadays!
  1. 🤝 Actual Bipartisanship?! - In an increasingly rare moment of bipartisanship, state lawmakers agreed on a new state budget that helps with its own focus on environmental issues, among other things. Don’t worry, there was still plenty of disagreement about a number of things; the world is not ending quite yet…
  1. 💰 Show Me The Money - From the new state budget, over $700 million will be used for environmental protection projects like floodplain resilience, restoration of natural areas, improving fish passages, and more. Looks like New Year’s for tree huggers, too! 🎉
  1. ✋ Jump In - The best news of all is that there are are lots of jobs available if you’re open to working in the great outdoors. With views and vistas like ours, who wouldn’t want that?

🔥Bottom line: So, there’s a lot happening to love here. The big focus on improving and protecting our great outdoors will make a lot of good things happen, and the jobs involved means our Paychecks are as happy as our hearts about it!
