There’s a new cheating trend among modern couples and it doesn’t involve the back seat of a car. This one is related to personal finances and the statistics are surprising.
Here’s Five Fast Facts About Financial Cheating:
- 🏦 Deposit - A new study shows that four in 10 Americans have at least one financial secret they’re keeping from their partner. It’s being referred to as “Financial Cheating.”
- 🤐 Withdraw - Those secrets include spending more than their partner would be okay with, secret debt, secret savings, a secret credit card, or a secret checking account. The one upside? No STDs.
- 💳 Score - Who’s sneaking around the most? The younger generations. Apparently two-thirds of Zoomers are financial cheaters, more than half of Millennials have something to hide, and only one in three Gen Xers and Boomers are guilty.
- 💵 Interest - More than a quarter of those surveyed (28%) say keeping financial secrets is as bad as actual cheating and 7% say it’s worse than a physical affair. I always thought an hourly rate at a no-tell motel was as low as you can go.
- 🏧 ATM - Experts say couples with joint bank accounts have a stronger satisfaction with their relationship because the accountability is higher. If you still feel you need a separate account, it’s best to openly communicate what money is going where.
🔥Bottom line: We’re now in a world where overhearing your partner say “I’m gonna put more in you” no longer means they’re having an affair with a person. New fear unlocked, right?
