- 📈 Booming Business - The study also showed that Ohio hosted roughly 1,400 industry-funded clinical trials in 2023. In addition to creating life-saving treatments, those clinical trials also supported 136,097 jobs.
- 💉 On Trial - Clinical trials are how pharma companies test the safety and efficacy of drugs they want to bring to market. Patient volunteers sign up for the trials, agree to take the drugs, and agree to be monitored over a specific period of time. Depending on a trial’s size and scale, it could involve hundreds of volunteers and last several years.
- 🏥 Good Pharma Karma - Clinical trials make the pharma world go ‘round! Across the United States, the pharmaceutical industry sponsored roughly 5,300 medicinal clinical trials and relied on over 900,000 participants.
- 💲 Top Tier - Which states got the biggest economic impact from clinical trials in 2023? Florida ranked numero uno at $8.3B. Texas took the number two spot with $7.7B and California came in third with $7.2B.
