- 📈 Can You Take Me Higher - …in some cities and towns, that's not the case. In Philly, it costs 14.4% more than the national average. In the bougie burbs of Doylestown, it costs 17.9% more.
- 🏡 Livin' In America - According to 2022 census data, PA's median household income was $71,798, which was lower than the national average of $74,580. According to MIT's Living Wage data, PA has a living wage of $70,008. The average national living wage is roughly $68,500 after taxes.
- 🤑 Shake Your Money Maker - The top earning counties in the Keystone State are Chester County, Montgomery County, and Bucks County. They have median household incomes of $117,232, $106,811, and $105,398, respectively.
- 📊 Meet Me In the Middle - Compared to the rest of the United States, PA's cost of living is right in the middle. According to the 2022 MERIC cost of living index, Pennsylvania is ranked number 27. It's a little more pricey than Minnesota and a little less expensive than Idaho.
