That’s cool, you can still make damn good money! Here we’ll look at not only how much money these jobs make, but also how much growth there is in the field so you know if it’s worth getting into.
Here are Five Fast Facts on the best trade jobs of 2023:
- 🤔 What Is A Trade Job - A trade job typically requires specialized training rather than a particular college degree. You might get that training through an apprenticeship, an associate’s degree, or just plain ol’ on-the-job training, but it’s less classroom-y and more do-y.
- 🏗️ Build Things - Construction manager is #5 on the list with a salary over $83k, and electricians come in at just under $60k. Both have at least 7% growth. Given that we all like living in houses or apartment buildings, I think we can all agree these jobs aren’t going away anytime soon (or ever)!
- 🔧 Fix Things - Aircraft mechanic and Industrial mechanic are #6 and #8 on the list, making a cool $70-80k and seeing as much as 14% growth! Keeping our machinery running can be very lucrative!
- 📈 Most Explosive Growth - The highest growth projection is for a Solar installer, #9 on the list at just under $70k. It’s got a whopping 27% growth projection, so your odds are good for getting this great trade job!
- 😷 Medical Dominates - The top four on this list are all in the medical field, and there’s another one at #11. Radiation or Respiratory Therapists and dental hygienists all make around $96k-120k per year. Licensed practice nurses are around $60k. All three of those have at least a 6% growth rate. At the top of the list is Ultrasonographer with a salary of $141k and a fantastic growth rate of 10%. These folks use sonar to diagnose medical conditions. Think bats, but without the fangs and rabies, and making bank while helping people.
🔥Bottom line: Not everyone is cut out for college. But that doesn’t mean you have to resign yourself to poverty and a dead end job. Trade jobs are essential for our society to function well, and there are plenty of them that will land you a terrific Paycheck.
