We’ve talked before about the best paying jobs of 2023 and the best paying trade jobs of 2023. Now it’s time to look at the best paying jobs of 2023…without a college degree! The good news is that not having a college degree doesn’t mean you have to live in poverty. There are lots of great jobs you can get – along with great Paychecks! – even if school doesn’t ring your bell.
Here are Five Fast Facts about the best paying jobs without a degree in 2023:
- 🧑💼 Business Folks - Just because you don’t have a degree doesn’t mean you can’t do business! Executive assistants came in at #2 on the list followed by sales rep at #4, both with a median salary of around $62k. Insurance agents were at #14 ($50k) and real estate agent was at #19 ($48k). Thank you very much, this deal is closed.
- 🛠️ Building And Making Stuff - There are loads of jobs for building and making stuff on this list! It starts with brick masons at #9 ($59k), then iron/steel worker at #10 ($59k). Sheet metal workers, equipment operators, carpenters, and cement workers also landed on the list, with median salaries ranging up to $53k. And you get the added bonus of looking at that cool thing you made every time you drive by.
- 🚪 Knock, Knock - Jobs that make house calls did very well here. Electricians and plumbers placed at #6 and #7, with median salaries of around $60k. Just watch out for the dogs!
- 🔈💨☀️ The Technicians - Several “technician” jobs made the list, too, starting with a sound engineering tech at #5 ($61k). Hearing aid specialist landed at #8 ($60k), wind turbine tech at #11 ($56k), surgical tech at #17 ($49k), and solar installer at #22 ($48k). If you want to learn a specialized skill set, this could be for you.
- 👮🚒 First Responders - Some of the most important jobs around are firefighters and police, which came in at #13 and #1, respectively. Police topped the list with a median salary of $65k. Thankfully, there is some money in serving and protecting (as there should be)!
🔥Bottom line: Keep in mind these are just median salaries. Depending on where you are and the actual company you work for, there’s no reason you can’t make more.
The main takeaway here is that these are GREAT jobs, and we need lots of GREAT people to fill them for our society to function! If you don’t have a degree, so what? Pick one of these and go be the best one you can be! You’ll be an important piece of your community, and take home a great Paycheck, too!
