So many people are living paycheck to paycheck nowadays, and odds are that you’re one of them (though we hope not!). We like to look at jobs that bring in paychecks that allow folks to live a little higher than that, so here’s a list of the highest paying jobs in the Great Lakes State. Fair warning - it’s not a quick shift to get into them, as all of them require either advanced degrees, years of experience, or both.
Here are Five Fast Facts on the highest paying jobs in Michigan:
- 🩺 Doctor Who - Four of the top 10 high paying jobs in the state are doctors, including the top spot, a Primary Care Pediatrician with a salary of just over $200k per year. With a salary like that, you can see why they often drive exotic cars, right?
- 🥼 Doctor Boss - Chief Medical Officer comes in just a little bit lower, around $187k. They don’t have to be practicing doctors, but they usually are - most often it’s a dual role that includes both medical practice and administrative management of budgets, policies, and other super interesting (ha!) paperwork-y things.
- 📊 It’s About The Numbers - A Finance Service Director pulls in a cool $197k per year managing a company’s finances and health, setting budgets, forecasting trends. We assume they love a good spreadsheet.
- 🤏 Almost The Boss - Three of the best paychecks in Michigan go to VPs of operations, sales, or marketing in various companies. These are usually right below Chief level officers and often run large chunks of the company with little oversight.
- 💼 The Actual Boss - As one might expect, a President and CEO role also finds its way to the top level of paychecks, coming in around $182k per year. We’d lay even money on them getting huge bonuses, stock options, or other incentives on top of that, though. 😉
🔥Bottom line: Most people can’t do these jobs, and many wouldn’t want to even if they could. That’s part of why they pay so well. But with the high stress and tough road to get them, they certainly get paid well once they arrive.
Do you think these huge paychecks are worth it for these positions?
