Time to dust off the old video game console that's been rotting away on your entertainment stand! 🎮 Walmart will pay for your old electronics in gift cards. 💰 All you have to do is follow an easy-peasy process. Who's down for one last round of Mario Kart? 🍄
Oh, and the best part is, they'll even take your broken gadgets. Can you finally say goodbye to your Zack Morris cell phone from high school? 👋📟 Take your time, parting is such sweet sorrow.
Here’s Five Fast Facts on Walmart's Gadget to Gift Cards Program:
- 💻 Go Go Gadget - Walmart partnered up with electronics recycling and trade-in company CExchange to make things happen. To get started, head over to the Gadget to Gift Cards website. You'll need to complete online appraisals for each item you want to turn in. Shipping is covered by CExchange, but you'll need to box everything up.
- 📋 Trust the Process - Once CExchange receives your items, they'll check them out to make sure they match the online appraisals. If everything's kosher, you'll get a confirmation email and an e-gift card should arrive in two to four weeks.
- 📱 Whatcha Got There? - If you have any of these lying around your house, CExchange will take them off your hands: smartphones, tablets, MP3 players, video games, cameras, laptops, and GPS units. Chargers and adapters are also fair game. Head to the program website for a full list of accepted items.
- 💔 Bust a Move - Don't be shy, send your broken crap, too! As long as they're on the approved list, you can send it in. Just make sure you note in your online appraisal that the item is busted or damaged in the "condition" section as it will determine how much money you get for it.
- 💳 But Wait! There's More - Use your gift card at any Walmart store nationwide or at Walmart.com. If you're a Sam's Club member, you can also use your gift cards there. These cards don't expire and they're exempt from sales tax.
🔥Bottom line: Did you know that over 50 million metric tons of electronic waste is produced worldwide each year, and each person generates over 15 pounds of it? 😱 That's pretty hefty. Help the environment by keeping it out of landfills and handing it over to Walmart. Put your gift cards toward something nice! Or spend it on necessities because you're a responsible human.
