Five Fantastic Winter Destinations in Minnesota

Winter doesn’t mean you have to hunker down by the fire under blankets until everything thaws. There are some fantastic places in Minnesota that are ideal for a quick and fun winter getaway!

Here’s Five Fast Facts About the Best Places for a Winter Getaway:

  1. ❄️Grand Marais - If you’re ever wanted to see the Northern Lights without having to travel to Greenland, then the quaint town of Grand Marais is your destination.
  2. 🌨️ Lindstrom - America’s Little Sweden is surrounded by lakes giving this town a one-of-a-kind appearance in the colder months. And if you’re up for some shopping, the two-story Lindstrom Antique Mall is packed with 40 outlets.
  3. 🏔️ Red Wing - Red Wing Boots has a sizable (see what I did there?) presence here. Its three-story HQ includes a store, an outlet, and a museum, complete with a gigantic Red Wing boot!
  4. ⛄ Minnehaha - If the weather is cold enough, Minnehaha Falls in the Minnehaha Regional Park could be frozen and it makes for some breathtaking scenery in the middle of a hike.
  5. 🥶 Rochester - The home of the Mayo clinic is a bustling winter town full of unique dining and entertainment. It’s all connected by skyways and walkways to make foot travel a snap.

🔥Bottom line: Don’t let the cold weather stop you! Depending on where you live in the state, any of these destinations could make for a fun day trip or an unforgettable weekend.
