Is your calendar empty over the next few weeks? 🗓️ Well, Pennsylvanians, we've got you covered! 🤠
All across the Keystone State, you'll find plenty of places to visit…with and without the spooky factor. 🍂🎃 Whether you're looking for family fun or a place to take your main squeeze to on date night, there's a little something for everyone.
Here’s five great places to check out during the rest of October:
- 🍎 How 'Bout Them Apples? - The Port Farms Fall Harvest Festival in Waterford is chock-full of autumn awesomeness. The farm dates back to 1897 and their festival includes an eight-acre corn maze, a slide mountain, and (wait for it) APPLE CANNONS! There's also animal exhibits and pumpkin picking.
- 🏮 Light It Up - Interested in some night time fun? The 3rd Annual Asian Lantern Festival at the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium has it all. Marvel at over 50 giant handcrafted sculptures and a three-story pagoda covered in lights. Don't leave without grabbing something to eat and catching some live entertainment. Oh, and it's also the zoo's 125th anniversary!
- 🧑🌾 If I Only Had a Brain - What's more fall than a scarecrow?! Head to Scarecrows in the Village at Peddler's Village in New Hope. There, you'll get to see over 100 scarecrows on display, ranging from scary to silly. When you've finished making some new straw friends, grab something to eat and do some shopping at the Village's restaurants and shops.
- 👻 Haunted Hang Out - If you're looking for a frighteningly good time, check out Scary Harry's Haunted Trail in Homer City. The trail has been scaring satisfied customers for 14 years in a row. This year, get ready for a multi-level cemetery experience and five haunted houses!
- ⛓️ Straight to Jail - If you're near Philadelphia, Halloween Nights at the city's Eastern State Penitentiary will definitely scratch your haunted house itch. Each year, the country's most historic prison transforms into a Halloween HQ, complete with themed bars and live performances. On your way out, pick up some goodies at the Tricks & Treats store.
🔥Bottom line: Who knew Pennsylvania had so many fall-tastic destinations? Scarecrows, apple cannons, and a haunted prison sure do cover all the bases…just like the Phils in the heat of the playoff season!
