Shoppers, start your engines! 🏍️ And by engines, we mean your cozy socks and blankies.
What better way to nurse that T-Gives hangover than cuddling up to the ol’ laptop and snagging some Black Friday deals? 🧑💻🛍️
If you’re planning on doing a little shoppy-shop, don’t make these rookie mistakes!
Here’s Five Fast Facts on what NOT to do this Black Friday and Cyber Monday:
- ✅ Making Plans - Going into Black Friday without a game plan is a total fumble! When you don’t have a method to your madness, you’re much more likely to overspend and buy stuff you don’t need. Before you shop, make a list of everything you want to buy. Set yourself a budget and research deals beforehand so you can hit the stores with a strategy.
- 🥴 Junk Drawer - Sometimes a good deal is really a lemon. Just because something’s on sale doesn’t mean it’s worth it. A lot of people fall for shiny discounts and wind up buying low-quality junk that doesn’t last. Zero in on good deals on high-quality goods that’ll be worth your hard earned paycheck.
- ⏰ Timing Is Everything - Over the years, Black Friday has evolved into several days of deals. You’ll find deep discounts between 11/29 and 12/2 (which is Cyber Monday) and you’ll score the biggest discounts on actual Black Friday. However, if you have plans to order custom or personalized gifts, don’t wait. Buy those ASAP to have them by Christmas.
- 🛒 Scam-A-Lama - If you’re surfing Amazon, you might notice that certain items look like they’re on sale 24/7. That’s a marketing gimmick to get you to add to cart. To make sure you’re really getting a great deal, use a price comparison app.
- 🙈 Fake Out - Another Amazon pro tip: watch out for fakes and knock-offs. Scammers love to sell low-quality copies of everything from electronics to beauty items. These can be hard to spot, but buying one by accident could leave you with a faulty product. Before you buy, check the customer reviews to make sure the deal is legit.
🔥Bottom line: Whether you’re a Black Friday Betty or a Cyber Monday Mabel, your shopping game better be on point this year. We’re totally judging you. Want to avoid political talk at the holiday dinner table? Check out this handy dandy guide!
