Is it the end of the hustle and grind era? It might be for those in traditional nine-to-five jobs! New research shows that the workforce is moving towards a more chill vibe. 🙌
Here’s Five Fast Facts on the rise of “anti-hustle” jobs:
- 🧘 Every Day I’m (Not) Hustlin’ - So what exactly is an “anti-hustle” job? Put simply, it’s a position that values a work-life balance and overall well-being over productivity and long working hours. More employers are using anti-hustle job-related keywords in their job advertisements to bring in the best talent.
- 😎 Chill Pill - According to a recent report, anti-hustle job openings experienced a steep rise between January 2020 and March 2024. So far this year, there are a total of 648,548 advertised “anti-hustle” jobs. That’s up a whopping 356% compared to pre-pandemic levels!
- 🩺 Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise - Which sector is doing the most when it comes to anti-hustle job ads? Healthcare and Nursing. The report shows the sector coming in at number one with 136,603 anti-hustle openings posted on job boards.
- 💰 You’re Worth It - Taking an anti-hustle job doesn’t always mean you’ll have to settle for a smaller paycheck. In sectors like IT, Legal, Consultancy, and Marketing, the average advertised salary was above $100,000 a year.
- 🫕 Still On the Grind - The anti-hustle trend isn’t sweeping across every sector, at least not yet. Hustle jobs are still the norm in Travel and Hospitality (44.7% posted jobs) and Catering (30.5% posted jobs).
🔥Bottom line: We love to make fun of Zoomers for TikTok trends like “lazy girl jobs” and “quiet quitting,” but maybe the kids are on to something! If you hate the hustle, you’re totes not alone.
