Best Holiday Light Shows In Washington State

One of the highlights of the holiday season for many people is the amazing light displays that pop up all over the state. Taking in light shows is a great low-key activity that is fun for all ages, captures the imagination, and helps us enjoy the season like few other things can do.

We’ve got a roundup of some of the best light shows around, so if you fancy a walk or a drive through some amazing nighttime displays, read on!

Here are Five Fast Facts on holiday light shows in Washington state:

  1. 🔵 Tacoma - One of the best light shows in the state can be found at the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. And don’t forget the Fantasy Lights at Spanaway Park, one of the biggest drive-through lights displays in the Northwest!
  1. 🔴 The Fair - If you want a fun, immersive experience, take a day to visit the Washington State Fair in Puyallup for the Holiday Magic festival. They have rides, games, food, and of course, some amazing lights displays!
  1. 🟢 Spokane - The Eastern side of the state has great lights, too! Spokane boasts the Numerica Tree Lighting at Riverfront Market, the Winter Glow Spectacular, and more.
  1. 🟡 Seattle - The state’s biggest city boasts some of the best light shows. Be sure to check out Pike Place Market, the Seattle Chinese Garden, and Woodland Park Zoo for some amazing lights and festivities. The Argosy Cruises Christmas Ship and the Parade of Boats is a unique water-borne light experience, and it’s worth the time to take a short drive to see Garden d’Lights at the Bellevue Botanical Garden.
  1. 🟣 In Your Neighborhood - We can’t forget the local neighborhood lights displays, either! One of the oldest and most well known is Candy Cane Lane, but there are many, many more, probably very close to where you live!

🔥Bottom line: Spend a couple minutes checking out where you want to go - many of these displays are free, but not all. And some are drive-through but some are only accessible through old-fashioned walking. Whatever your preference, if you want a great, family-friendly activity over the next few weeks, you’ve got loads of options to choose from, no matter where you are!
