Autumn October Events in Ohio

October is here and fall has officially taken over. How many PSLs have you had so far? ☕ Are you keeping track? We’re not. We’d rather live in the moment. 🍂

From spooky ghost tours to pumpkin pageants, October is chock full of fun events for Ohio families. 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 We’ve rounded up some of the best events across the state!

 

Here’s Five Fast Facts on Ohio’s October events:

  1. 👻 Boo Thang - Wanna get up close and personal with a ghost or two? Head to the Historic Zoar Village for a ghost tour you won’t forget! Tours run on October 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, and 26. You’ll see all the historic buildings of Zoar by lantern light as the ghosts of Zoar tell you their haunted tales. Tickets are $19 and tours run every 15 minutes and begin at 6:30pm. Don’t forget to make a reservation.
  1. 🚶 Spooky Stroll - Get those fall steps in, fam! On October 20th, head to Youngstown for the Pumpkin Walk at Twilight at Fellows Riverside Gardens. This evening experience includes a nice stroll through pumpkin-lined pathways and amazing garden displays…complete with lit jack o'lanterns. The best part? This event is free!  
  1. 🎃 Pumpkin Everything - From October 16-19 the Official Circleville Pumpkin Show is the place to be in Central Ohio. It’s one of the nation's largest pumpkin festivals and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to feast on your favorite pumpkin treats. Make sure to stay for the crowning of this year’s Miss Pumpkin Show.
  1. 🍻 Halloween Hangout - If you’re in the Southeastern part of the Buckeye State, mosey on over to Athens Halloween on October 28th. This free event includes tons of family-friendly activities. Looking to throw down some pumpkin spiced brewskis? The adults only block party starts at 6pm.
  1. 🏰 A Piece of the Past - Test out your jousting skills at the Ohio Renaissance Festival in Waynesville. Running through October 27th, this super-fun blast from the past features a 16th-century village packed with thrilling shows, food and drink, and one-of-a-kind shops.

🔥Bottom line: Make sure to enjoy yourself this month! Before you know it, it’ll be time to brace yourselves for charged political conversations at the Thanksgiving dinner table.
