Court Battle Over Mask Mandate

Court Battle Over Mask Mandate

Not everyone is a fan of Gov. Evers' mask mandate. Some people definitely support the mask rules but others...not so much.

Check out how three Western WI residents filed a lawsuit against the Governor. They say that he didn’t have the authority to make everyone wear the masks. Especially considering that individual towns and counties were already handling the mask issue. Plus, he didn’t go through the state lawmakers to pass the law.

If you remember Evers issued the order on July 30 and it took effect Aug. 1. It is set to run until Sept. 28. The order requires everyone age 5 and older to wear a mask while indoors, except at home. Violators could be fined $200.

The WI supreme court will probably have to take the case and decide if it was legal.
