Big Money for WI Food Banks and Non-Profits

Sweet Relief for Wisconsin Food Banks and Charities!

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) announced the groups who received  funding through the Food Security Initiative. About $5 million was awarded to 17 food banks and other non-profit organizations that serve people and Tribal Nations across Wisconsin as part of a special support grant. Also, another $10 million was awarded as part of the COVID-19 Food Security and Wisconsin Products grant which will be distributed across two of Wisconsin’s largest hunger relief organizations.

The best part is that the funding was distributed to organizations who have a proven track record of successfully network with producers, processors, Tribal Nations, and food banks from across the state. And it wasn’t hard to find 17 eager organizations ready to help!

Thankfully, our great state has a lot of great people who live to give!
