WI Governor Doesn’t want Federal Law enforcement

Gov. Evers has said he does not want Federal Law enforcement coming to Milwaukee. The governor wrote a letter to the White House saying that he thinks Feds will simply make the tension worse in a city that’s already unsettled. He’s concerned about making people angry and riling up the angry mobs that have devastated other cities like Portland, Oregon.

Federal agents are coming to town despite Evers wishes but they say they aren’t trying to stop riots or fight protestors. Instead, they are simply going to help solve violent crimes as part of a larger program called Operation Legend.

If officers can help solve crimes and bring justice then surely the Governor will welcome their help but time will tell if an increased Federal presence will make a tense situation better or worse in Milwaukee.
