Michigan Reveals Spaceport Site, Potential 40K New Jobs by 2025
July 29, 2020
Michigan just got even more futuristic as an aero-space company has decided to build a couple rocket launch sites just north of Marquette in the Upper Peninsula.
The two launch sites, plus a TBA command and control center, will create more than 2,000 jobs for. The best part is that this is just the beginning of the more than 40,000 new jobs to be created in Michigan’s space industry by 2025!
Launching rockets is very common and about 1,200 small satellites were launched into orbit between 2007 and 2018 alone. We should see about 7,000 more launched over the next decade by various public and private companies (NASA, military, SpaceX, etc.)
So, get your “rocket scientist” and “rocket man” jokes ready for Northern Michigan because, baby, we’re going to the moon! (not really….but maybe!!!)
