GM lands big contract to build mid-sized Army truck

A subsidiary of General Motors, GM Defense LLC, landed a contract worth $214.3 million to build the U.S. Army’s new Infantry Squad Vehicle. This is a big win for American Paychecks as GM will use the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 midsize truck platform and appx. 90 percent commercial off-the-shelf parts to construct the vehicle. According to Detroit News, this epic battle-ready truck will hold up to nine soldiers, fully equipped, and it will be able to fit into both the UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter or a CH-47 Chinook helicopter.

GM execs gave kudos to the fine men and women of General Motors who make American manufacturing great and credited their hard work as key to securing such a contract.
